DOT (Kate Ellwanger) is a producer, vocalist, and multi instrumentalist in LA, creating a fusion of electronic, indie rock, and R&B.
I was approached by DOT in early 2022 to create the artwork for her Summer EP campaign, ‘AMBUSH’. Working alongside her and her team, I created four covers with animations and a poster, as well as social media assets to make her overall brand cohesive with the launch of her EP.

The look for AMBUSH is inspired by cool tones and cyberpunk futurism, where elegance meets strength.
DOT’s existing brand incorporates psychedelic patterns and gradients, which were carried into the campaign art.
FOLLOW ME (since i found you)
Three initial concepts were developed for her first single off the EP, “FOLLOW ME”. The direction for this started with self empowerment. Having the strength to lift yourself up from a dark place.
CONCEPT 1
Hands or bodies reaching towards each other and soft pastel gradients of light.
CONCEPT 2
Infinite and impossible shapes, two hands reaching for each other while coming from one entity.
CONCEPT 3
Reflection / shadow and psychedelic patterns in dark, strong colors.
FEVER DREAM
The second release off AMBUSH is ‘FEVER DREAM’. The visual is inspired by DOT’s motorcycle and we wanted to incorporate cyberpunk elements as well. The goal was to create something that was a contrast from the previous artwork, while remaining cohesive.
SKETCHES AND COLOR EXPLORATION
WANT U 2 STAY (with TSU NAMI)
Following Fever Dream is ‘want u 2 stay’, an ethereal collaboration with producer TSU NAMI. I wanted to create a piece that would sit cohesively with the other releases while standing on its own, and reflect the additional prescence in the collaboration. The graphic shows two human forms floating in a soft gradient abyss.
AMBUSH EP
The final piece is the cover of AMBUSH EP. A retro game console was the direction for the piece, so I designed a cabinet to look like the music was the soundtrack to the game and the album was the game itself. I used pieces of all of the other covers in the animation on the screen of the game to tie everything together.
Following the release of AMBUSH ep, is NFT SV x SONIC SUMMIT.
